I have a number of people write to me and proclaiming that they are unaffected by life and are watching the show but remain untouched by it. This numbness equates to spiritual awakening or in other cases “progress” in their minds, but what they do not realize is they have formed an attachment with nihilism.
Enlightenment is by and large a great experience, where everything is lived fully, but then equally passes through us. It is not a state of being unaffected, it is a state of being fully immersed in life, while recognizing that none of it matters. And the fact that none of it matters, matters not… Meaning is irrelevant, but the moment is not.
