Hi and Welcome to this site!
This site is used as a vehicle to share some insights, techniques and tips on two aspects of life. The first is waking from the dream altogether. The second is to live well within the dream. Despite what you have heard waking from the dream is a random thing. Living well within the dream is not random and is entirely up to you.
These days just about everyone and their dog is claiming awakening. But awakening is rare, extremely rare. What passes for awakening seems to be a churning of tired old phrases. The medium may be new, the internet, you tube videos, but essentially its people spitting out clichés.
Life is more than clichés. A lot more…
Aside from that, awakening does not suddenly make one a great teacher. A person still needs a very specific skill set, a high degree of understanding the complexity of a human being and most importantly how the dream functions etc. My advice is to look beyond clichés, look past popular trends, and start to learn to think for yourself.
The same applies to anything written here, you are encouraged to test things out experientially and then decide for yourself. It is your life after all.
I have recently enabled comments again. They are moderated, but most comments are allowed. It is just the ultra-negative ones or abusive comments that are disallowed. If you have a question or comment to make please feel free to do so.
On teachings on awakening, I was much more active a few years ago than I currently am. Strictly speaking I no longer take on students in this regard. I do however correspond via email on spiritual matters. Feel free to contact me and we shall see what comes of it.
I also provide a lot of articles and pointers on this site. Writing seems to be my medium for the awakening stuff. My main interest is in working with people in the form of a therapeutic relationship.
I do maintain a small private practice in psychotherapy /counseling where places are available from time to time. The practice focuses upon getting the most of the life and overcoming life’s difficulties. I have also expanded this recently to include sessions via skype. More energy is going into this field, it’s a return to my roots and doing what I do best, work with people on a 1 to 1 basis.
My view of psychology has changed to be in keeping with awakening. When working with people it’s about finding and removing barriers impeding where they want to be in life. It is a way of letting go, a way of reducing ego. The answer always lays in the direction of engagement with life rather than withdrawing from life is what I have found. Engagement with life does not mean bloating ego, actually it is the opposite. The less of ego, the better life goes.
Currently, I am in the final stages of writing a book, entitled Unmasking the Self: No Self at the Heart of Us. The reaction of the few people that have seen what has been written thus far have been positive. The book should be available early in the year of 2013. I occasionally post a little snippet here and there from the book. When the book is closer to release, both the publisher and I will release larger excerpts. So keep an eye out for it.
I do have a twitter account where I post material, tips reasonably regularly, so please join me there if you feel so inclined. I am also on Facebook, though on Facebook I tend not to post about spiritual or psychology stuff as much as I post about places and things I personally find interesting. Again you are most welcome to join me there. There are icons at top of this page that will take you there.
A little about me:
I have multiple degrees in psychology. I have many years’ experience in working with people in a therapeutic environment. In addition I received a few awards for study/work in the field of psychology. I am generally considered pretty intelligent, warm, funny, but at the same time quirky. I do have a personality and do not try and hide it, even though the personality is not me.
My friends say I am so unusual that I am more like a completely different specifies rather than just being ‘different’. They mean it in a good way I think! They tell me that I am different in the sense that I never stress about things no matter how bad. That’s a reasonably accurate assessment as I don’t seem to suffer from anxiety since that “event” which closer to a “non-event” about 9 years ago.
The other area they notice I differ from most people is how I have preferences. I do have preferences but they are no longer strong ones. Most things in life are like choosing between a strawberry and a ripe cherry, where both are loved.
Anyway that’s a couple of things that my friends have noticed that I thought may be interesting.
When I am not writing, I prefer to spend my free time pc gaming when time and energy permits. I love to cook and have a profound preference to not wash dishes but find I still do. I love gardening, but am gardenless at the moment.
I do currently have several health issues and admittedly look worse for wear. In many ways it’s been a hard life for the majority of it and the body shows it these days.
I am content, and at peace with myself and the world. It is trying to help you engineer this peace within yourself that I hope I can be of some value.

The reality is that every single word, every single teaching, is specifically set up to keep people firmly entrenched in Maya. There is no word or technique that can liberate. Teachers will fall back on “well there is a good pointer”. That’s nonsense as well. If there were great pointers people would be truly waking up left, right and centre. Yet there has never been a culture of waking up, there has only been a culture of pretending to wake up. Everything in the universe is designed to entrench in Maya, it’s not designed to...

One day I will write all these tips down, I have so many of them… If you want to improve your memory recall and ability to focus, doodle… Counter Intuitive I know, yet this what the research has indicated. Doodling will increase those qualities by about 29 percent for most people. Doodling is one of the more efficacious techniques in this regard. There are several theories as to why it works, but at some level it seems that doodling occupies our unconscious mind and stops it from drifting to far. The non taxing nature of...
read moreA Test of Letting Go
I am fond of putting things to the test and encourage people to do the same. This one is about discovering what does not work as much as what does. It has to do with intention and problem solving and the art of letting go. You may have noticed that often when we let go of a problem the solution magically appears. It might appear in a dream or in a bath or a long walk. It has happened a number of times in my life and I know it has occurred in other people’s lives as well. So let us see if we can work out what we might be able to...

S eeking goes a little like this: There is a spiritual question. An answer will come from the question if we are earnest, compassionate, worthy or intelligent enough! When the question is answered in all its complexity we will finally come to rest and be at peace eternally ever after. Or so the story goes. It’s a powerful ploy, a great game, designed to exactly keep the seeker mired in a never ending cycle of seeking. People may claim awakening, but usually when they do, it’s the same drivel with no real understanding of reality or...

A man and woman sit near each other, and they do not long at the moment to be older, or younger, nor born in any other nation, or time, or place. They are content to be where they are, walking or not talking. Their breaths together feed someone who we do not know. The man sees the way his fingers move; he sees her hands close around a book she hands to him. They obey a third body that they share in common. they have made a promise to love that body. Age may come, parting may come, death will come. A man and woman sit near each other; as they...
